THE SNAKE.

Today, students in second grade have worked on mathematics from a new perspective.

They have used the LEGO material MORE TO MATH. Different challenges, more and more complicated. The goal is to build a snake with the same length and shape as the one shown in white on the right side of each statement. Really motivating and demanding.

It may seem a simple activity, however, most students found it difficult to represent an identical design to the one requested. The activity requires measurement, spatial orientation, finding pieces of different sizes that fit the pattern… In most cases, students were blocked by having to combine all those skills to develop a final product that was a correct solution.

To give you an idea, the last pattern is still unsolved!
