Recently, I shared with you ALL THESE RESOURCES ON ANIMALS FOR SECOND GRADE
I include below some more transversal resources that I will use to close the unit.
In Arts & Crafts we will learn HOW TO DRAW AN OWL
And we will take advantage to learn this nursery rhyme:
Here is the video, so that you can listen to it:
Finally, let’s take advantage of our position … Let me explain. Talking about animals is always an exciting subject, and for the little ones of my students’ age, much more. For that reason, we can take the opportunity to read a little. I leave here the cover of a “modern classic.”
In this video, you can listen to Bill Martin, the author, reading his own story. As you will see, it is full of rhythm and is very “catchy”. This is great for us to work on reading and writing, and phonemic awareness (rhythm, intonation …).
I am trying to make the most of a centre of interest: we work with the contents of natural sciences, of course, but we also take advantage to give a meaningful context to reading, to know works by authors such as Bill Martin, we read, we write, we sing …
To finish, I leave a link with many free resources to work with BROWN BEAR:
